A lot of atrocities and senseless violence were committed by both sides, but separation of Bangladesh was certainly due more to Pakistani oppression than &quot;Indian evil&quot;.
India was just taking advantage of a good opportunity to stick it to an old enemy, which, while certainly a devious thing to due, is in no way &quot;evil&quot; or even surprising. Pakistan mis-governed Bangladesh, and so they have a right to sovereignty, just like the Indian subcontinent had a right to sovereignty after the British mis-managed it. I&#039;m sure if the Bengals decide that they want to be East Pakistanis again they&#039;ll let you know.</description>
