Gojra Shames Pakistan

For all Pakistani’s the month of August is synonmous with the celebrating of Pakistan’s creation. It is a month of hope and humour, fun and laughter and general optimism and a break from the daily grind and bad news that is modern day Pakistan.

This August, Pakistan and Pakistani’s stand ashamed at the Gojra atrocity committed in our collective name. At a personal level I cannot find words that can express my anger and vitroil at the fascists ALLAH-hating so-called Muslims who torched homes and burnt innocent Christians alive in Gojra.

I just cannot condemn the evil enough and am ashamed that my land of the pure has been made impure by the vile acts of a motley crew of bigots and that too, in August of all months. The so-called Muslims of Pakistan who committed this evil in the name of Islam are sons of Satan, period.

The crime commited by Pakistani Christians allegedly was the desecration of the Holy Quran, a rumour that fed a mob of Lucifer’s litter to torch homes, and kill and burn innocents alive. I ask is the Holy Quran not desecrated every day in Pakistan when we as Pakistani Muslims break every Quranic injunction.

For example recently the Chief Justice of Pakistan recently took suo moto notice of the rape and killing of a 3 year child in Karachi by two policeman. My question is this where were the Muslims of Pakistan then and where are they now? where was the mob to protest against this crime against the Holy Quran? Moreover is it not true that rape, corruption, lies and theft are accepted by our great Muslims as part and parcel of our warped and twisted Pakistani pick-and-choose Islam . Such Pakistani home-truths need to be shared and we must address them head on if we are to progress as a nation.

The facts of the Gojra atrocity are yet to come to light in full, however I am reassured that Justice Iqbal Hameedur Rehman of the Lahore High Court is heading the judicial investigation, the son no less of the great Chief Justice Hameedur Rehman. That said I cannot hide my shame as a Pakistani for an act no Pakistani can ever own yet was committed in our name. A moving poem by Zakintosh does well to capture the emotions and is shown below:

August Shame
