Thanking (Pakistan’s Angel)ina Jolie
The Jolie-Pitt Foundation of Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt has given $1m to UNHCR for the Pakistani IDP’s. Angelina Jolie’s affection for Pakistan is not new as she has visited Pakistan during the 2005 earthquake and at other times in her capacity as UNHCR Goodwill Ambassador.
The donation of $1m to the IDP’s is not only welcome but indicative of her love for the Pakistani people made homeless due to the vile Taliban. Moreover Angelina Jolie’s generosity speaks volumes about her and helps paint a different American picture for Pakistanis, for in her personal capacity as an American citizen, Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt have shown in actions and in not words alone their love for Pakistan and Pakistanis. Note too that the $1m is much more than what most filthy rich and fatcat Pakistani politicians like Asif Ali Zardari and Nawaz Sharif and the elite have given for the IDPs and shows the genuine love Angelina Jolie has for the Pakistani people and refugees in general. I would not be wrong in saying that she has proved she is the Angel in Angelina and has come to help Pakistan as an angel of mercy and hope.
Moreover the kind gesture that will help the most needy in Pakistan proves the common bonds of humanity remain strong. Today is ‘World Refugee Day’ and the following Angelina Jolie video says it all:
So Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt as a Pakistani and on behalf of Pakistan I wish to thank you for your help and for showing genuine affection for the IDP’s. Three cheers for Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie for standing with Pakistan in this difficult hour.
The tragedy is that Pakistani politicans past and present announce civil awards for American masters like Richard Boucher and others while genuine Americans who are deserving and genuine supporters of Pakistan and its people are ignored. And so today Other Pakistan is happy to anoit today Angelina Jolie with the Nishan-e-Imtiaz to Angelina ‘Pakistan’s Angel’ Jolie.
