The lion of the lawyers movement and the son of Balochistan Ali Ahmed Kurd has been elected as the Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) President. This is great news for all of Pakistan, for the lawyers movement will soon regain its momentum.
Inshallah it will soon be time for my long march slogan of ‘dama dum, mast kalander, chief saab court ke andher’ to be heard on the streets again. The nation must once again stand tall until the deposed judges are restored and frauds like Tariq Pervez, Sabihuddin and of course the Dog(gar) court are confined to their rightful abode in the dustbin of history.
This is a time for hope as Ali Ahmed Kurd brings a passion to the cause that is unmatched and he will surely lead the movement from the front. The civilian dictatorship of Mr 10% will soon fear the force of this Balochi son and his army of lawyers as will Naek, Khosa & Co.
Remember that the new Pakistan movement formed and led by the lawyers movement is a struggle for the Quaid’s Pakistan. It is led by the most noble of people in Ali Ahmed Kurd, Aitzaz Ahsan, Munir A Malik, Justice Retd Tariq Mehmood and Co.
The cause is a call to arms not in the real sense but a call of action to comatose Pakistanis to take part in a movement of change, a movement that aims to bring justice, peace and prosperity to all.
The words of the great Ahmed Faraz saab quoted by the Chief Justice recently to the Hyderabad Bar Association ring in my ear as I write this, and I repeat them here:
Shikwa ae zulmat ae shab se tho kahin behtar tha
Apne hisse ki koi shama jalate jaate
